The XV232 project team continues to make steady progress toward the planned relocation of the aircraft from its current position at Coventry Airport as operational planning intensifies.

During the latest operations coordination meeting, volunteers and engineering leads reviewed detailed arrangements for a potential upcoming aircraft move within Coventry Airport, including site access, towing support, aircraft preparation and equipment positioning. Subject to final operational clearances, the move is expected to take place over the coming days with support from both volunteers and specialist contractors.

Work is also continuing on preparations for the longer-term dismantling and transportation phase. The engineering team is actively exploring options for a suitable engine removal frame, with enquiries ongoing through a number of aviation recovery organisations, museums and industry contacts across the UK. At the same time, project engineers are reviewing technical drawings and considering fabrication options for a bespoke lifting frame to support future engine removal operations.

The project team has also continued discussions regarding the long-term relocation programme and future preservation plans for XV232.
