Help Preserve Nimrod XV232

The Nimrod Preservation Group XV232 CIC is always interested in hearing from former Nimrod personnel, aerospace engineers, technicians and aviation enthusiasts who may be able to support the preservation and relocation of Nimrod XV232.

As the project progresses through the relocation, reassembly and long-term preservation phases, we continue to build a network of skilled volunteers who can contribute specialist knowledge, practical support and engineering expertise.

Whether you served on Nimrod, worked within the aerospace industry, or have relevant technical experience, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Current Areas of Interest

We are particularly interested in volunteers with experience in:

Airframe

Aircraft structures, systems, maintenance and restoration activities.

Project Update

The preservation of XV232 has entered a new phase following the decision to relocate the aircraft by land from Coventry Airport to its future home in partnership with the RAF Manston History Museum.

Following detailed engineering reviews and project assessments, the previously proposed ferry flight option was determined to be unfeasible and is no longer being pursued. Project efforts are now focused on the controlled preparation, disassembly, transportation, reassembly and long-term preservation of the aircraft.

This approach provides the safest and most practical route to securing the future of XV232 and ensuring that this important piece of British aviation heritage can be preserved for future generations.
